Lake Vacation

The start of our trip..a Twins game. Dave and Becky were able to watch the girls while Evan and I went with Jon and Alana. The most relaxing baseball game I've ever been too. :o)

Not long after arriving Ella was in her swimsuit and in the water. Her cousin Savanah was pulling her and her other cousin Tyler in the little raft.

My dad was water skiing...pretty proud of him. That's one thing I'm frightened to do and he just gets up like nothing.

Eva accidently fell into the water but since we made all the kids wear life vests when around the water she just bobbed right back up to the surface..thank god! She was fine, just freaked! She stayed even further away from the water after that.

We went to Brett's wifes grandma's lake house..which was beautiful. the kids all had fun with new toys and activities.

Well we had the most wonderful time with family over the 4th in Minnesota at Round Lake. We left Friday June 24th just 4 hours before a huge storm rolled through Ohio and knocked down a huge tree in our yard and a huge portion of the cities power for almost a week. I think we timed our trip just perfect. It was also one of the hottest weeks we've had...it was in the 100's for 3 days straight. Miserable! So we arrived in Minneapolis around 1am on Saturday morning. On Saturday Uncle David and Aunt Becky stayed an extra day to spend time with Ella and Eva. They went to the park and played while we went to the Twins game. They had fun but Eva wasn't feeling well..eyes were watering and she was developing a fever. The night was rough...but she survived. She didn't sleep much and I think that was one of the reasons she was sick in the first place..she hasn't been wanting to take naps or go to bed. She was still miserable on Sunday and most of Monday but had no problems sleeping at the cabin for nap times or bed times. I slept with her and Evan slept with Ella the entire time. We arrived at the lake on Sunday around 4, a little later considering Eva wasn't feeling well. It was so great to be there surrounded by my family. Monday was mom and dad's special day. We cooked steak and shrimp, had a cake and bought them a nice picture frame and wine glasses for their 40th anniversary. We also had shirts made for all of us so we could remember our time together. To make it better, right when we were dishing up dinner the power went out..so we had a candlelight dinner..so special. I don't think they will forget it though! Tuesday was another day for our family. Wednesday was spent with Brett's extended family, Thursday with Susan and Brian and Jennie and Braeley and Val and Amanda. They were my dad's sisters and families. It was great to see them. Friday was the only crappy, rainy, and cold day. It was ok because we all had packing to do and I was sick from Eva. So the week could have gone better for me but there still was no place I would have rather been. I had some great talks with my grandpa Charbonneau, whom I was so glad that came then entire week. It was the perfect week and hope it will happen again sooner rather than later. Friday Mary and Mark, and Grant came to visit us at the cabin and from there went to Minneapolis to meet us their on Saturday and spend more time with us. We were happy to see them and glad for our time with them and Jon and Alana again. We are so excited for Alana to have her baby, it was fun to see her belly, she looks beautiful. We left around 9am on Sunday and drove the entire day, got home around 1am on Monday morning.  I am still exhausted and still sick so will slowly get back to normal. Ella and Eva are lacking attention and driving me crazy already, but good news is G&G Linahl are coming to visit next Friday the 20th so I can handle it for awhile.
