Colds

Look at my chubby cheeks!

Evan and his mini me.

The gang minus mom because she's never in any pictures.

Where ever Eva is; Ella is! She loves her sister and gives her lots of kisses everyday. She also has learned to say it's otay (okay) to help calm her down.

It's hard to tell but Eva is smiling too!

We had a boring week. Ella caught a cold and was forced to stay indoors. It has also been pretty cold here, so that didn't help. We did go to storytime on Wednesday just to get out of the house. She had lots of fun! We played hide and go seek for the 1st time this week. Max & Ruby, a show on Nickolodean, gave us the idea. She wanted to count but can only count to 2 show once she repeated 2 about three times you better be hidden because she was coming to find you. Good thing we have a small place. It was so hard to keep quiet, because I was laughing so hard at her counting. She would stand in the doorways of our rooms and just wait to hear me. I would eventually have to whistle or make some noise for her to get closer and than I would jump out and scare her. We had so much fun. I never thought I would be playing hide and seek with Ella, who is under 2. Eva has finally gotten on a some kind of schedule, the nights are a lot more tolerable. She wakes generally only 2 times. I am not as tired but could still use a couple more hours of sleep. Eva did not catch Ella's cold, she did get a little stuffy but nothing she couldn't clear herself. I was worried about her! By Friday both girls were fine so we went to our playdate with the moms club. Ella had fun playing with new toys and kids. We then went out to eat and she was so well behaved. I am amazed on how much she changes from day to day. She continues to learn and say more words. Her favorite of the week is noise. She puts her hand to her ear and says noise everytime she hears something. So yes, it is getting old. January is over so spring is 1 month closer, yay!

Not sure where this last week has gone, before I knew it it was Thursday and I still couldn't find the time to update the site. Sorry! Evan had Monday off of work so that's probably what screwed me up, we didn't do much. Ella and Evan slept till 10am which I thought was crazy! Evan sure enjoyed it. Tuesday we ran to Target and did some other errands just to get out of the house, which felt wonderful. Lot's of work by myself but it's the only physical activity I get these days so hopefully I can lose some weight. Wednesday we went to storytime at the library and than to a friends house for the afternoon. Evan plays basketball of Wednesday nights so the days get way too long to stay home all day. Thursday and Friday were spent inside, nothing to do except housework when I could find the time. Ella came down with a cold on Friday so we didn't go to our playgroup. Now, the challenge is keeping Ella away from Eva so that Eva doesn't get sick too. I know it's kind of inevitable! Ella doesn't like staying away from her and doesn't quite understand why. She has been dealing with a stuffy nose pretty well, it's been a long while since she last got a cold. Ella is still amazing us, she is picking up more and more words every week; this week its; WHAT & dada's home, and numbers; one and two. Eva is becoming more alert and smiling so much. I have not got them on the same schedule yet but still working on it. It's challenging because I like that Eva is sleeping when Ella is up so I can play with her and vice versa, but I'd like them to eventually be on the same schedule so I can get some sleep.

No Time

Well sorry a little late this week but it's hard to find the time these days. When and if both girls are napping I usually lay down too and when their awake there is lots to do. But anywho... we are all doing well. Eva had her 1 month appt. last Wednesday and she now weighs 10lbs 11.5 oz. and is 22 in. long. Unbelievable! I even took both girls by myself, Ella did wonderfully and Eva was good too! Still unsure if I want to venture out by myself too much. Eva is waking more frequently at night to eat which is a bummer. I thought it was supposed to get better. Ella has also been waking at night and not taking naps so this week was a little rough. Although, one day this week both girls were napping at the same time so I got an hour nap. It was amazing! Ella is getting so big and beginning to say a lot more words, she gets a little frustrated with us because we don't always understand her but it's coming. I'm proud of her! She is also quite the copy cat but mostly just of her daddy, not sure why but it's cute to watch them play.

On Saturday Evan went to play BB close to downtown, the 1st time in a long time and we had the unfortunate experience of getting our window smashed in in the car. They didn't steal anything but we still had to pay a pretty little penny to get it fixed. What a bummer! On Sunday Evan took Ella to play in the snow, we have gotten much more snow here than ever before. She had fun but didn't last long, it was very cold out.

All Alone

Ella ready to go swimming in the pool!

Well here is the true test to see if I can take care of 2 little girls all by myself. Our company left on Friday and Evan and I had a nice relaxing weekend at home, trying to start a good routine for the girls. We had a great time with the family especially Uncle Jon and Aunt Alana, we don't get to see them much. We went swimming one day at the hotel and it was quite cold in the pool as well as the pool area so it wasn't as much fun as we hoped. Ella still did seem to enjoy it! My company helped me take down the Christmas decorations and tree which was a lifesaver. I'm pretty sure they would have been up all year if I didn't get their help. Thanks! We didn't do much except hang out with one another and play games when the girls went to bed. It was lots of fun! For New Years we went out to a japenese steakhouse thinking Ella would enjoy watching them cook, well she hated it and cried the whole time, she was especially frightened of the fire. I guess we will stay away from there for away. Ella is being a turd lately because she is getting more teeth so she doesn't listen and will not take naps. Let's just say it was a rough, long day home by myself. Eva is an angel and basically only cries when she is hungry. I have found that carrying her around in a snugli strapped to my chest works well for all of us. We are hanging in there and can't wait for more hours of sleep. Thanks to all my family and friends for everything you've done to help us out. We really appreciate it!

We were all trying out a new present from Grandma and Grandpa Lindahl, the smores turned out great and Ella loved them.

Ella's helping daddy deflate the air mattress. What a big help!
